DRIVEL
There's something to be said for drunken ramblings. There I was, happily gazing out the window of the Met line train on the way back from a gig the other night, when I tuned in to a phone conversation between two brothers. The brother on the train openly admitted he was hammered, which we could all kind of tell anyway thanks to his slurred words and glazed look, but in his drunken wisdom he did manage to offer some good advice.
From what I could gauge of the situation, the inebriated brother on the train had landed a good job in the city because he had "flunked out at uni but got very very lucky" whilst the brother on the receiving end was studying at university and not working as hard for his exams as he should be.
The advice the drunkard gave (which he repeated over and over again until I could almost recite him word for word) was simply to put the hours in now and benefit from them in later life. Very good advice and I would recommend any students out there take heed and follow the drunken man's orders. Failing that, you can have a hell of a good time and blag a good job like your drunk brother.
The call ended and somehow attention was focused on my new purchase - the drunkard calling me "Cybertron the Transformer" to which I almost pointed out that Cybertron was the planet that the Transformers came from, not the name of a Transformer, but I thought that would only incite more rambling.
