CAR-IKEY
Summer has finally arrived. Brilliant news. Except that something in the suns rays has affected me.
I was in a rush to get to the Rob Thomas gig at Astoria last night and as I turned off my car's ignition, I flicked the automatic wing-mirrors button to fold them in and checked to see that the car was secure before grabbing my jacket and dashing off to the gig.
And what a gig it was. Rob Thomas was in top form and we even got to meet Matt Beck (of Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas fame) after the show, but it was a late night again and getting up in the morning was a struggle.
As I ambled out to my car in the brilliance of the 8am sunshine this morning, feeling very tired and particularly unenthusiastic about spending the whole day at work, I noticed that the front passenger window of my car was missing. That side of the car was facing the road so the window was in full view of passers by, other drivers and the nursery across the road. 'SHIT' I thought as I hurried towards the car, racking my memory for any valuables left in there. I couldn't think of any, and there was no glass on the ground by the car so it was all very odd.
I examined the door, there was no damage. My London A to Z was also sitting prettily on the passenger seat, the CDs were still in the arm of the door so nothing appeared to have been stolen. A massively lucky escape then. As my mind whirred and tried to come up with a reason why this had happened, I could only conclude that I had forgotten to wind up the electric windows on that side when I exited the car the previous night, despite my security check.
So I got to work and told a colleague what had happened. Bizarrely enough, she then explained that she drove to work in her husband's company car this morning because her's wouldn't open, and then another colleague overheard our conversation and told us that he left the keys to his brand new Clio V6 in the ignition all night!
There's something in the air.

did same thing...not so lucky: left full length panoramic thingy open all night and the cat made a new home and has taken big chunks out of the seats with her claws. Cue foot up arse of cat and uncomfortable silence when returning car in favour of forthcoming CC posemobile.
