NOT QUITE AS NEW LABOUR
So smiley Tony B-Liar has got himself re-elected for the second time, thus subjecting the country to another four years of mistruths and wrong decisions, all hidden behind those ever-displayed pearly whites. Mind you, it's hardly surprising when the dribbling morons that read tosh newspapers like The Sun and News Of The World are greeted with the headlines 'Vote Labour' on election day, and duly oblige like the obedient 'I'm doing it because I can't think for myself' idiots that they are.
My interest in politics is limited, despite the frustration in that first paragraph, but last weekend's meeting with Boris Johnson ignited a fire that I never knew existed. A spot of canvassing with the former Have I Got News For You presenter and a trip to the pub were all Simon S and I were granted, but Boris' mere appearance (scruffy suit, foppish hair, messy tie) and the "where are we off to now then? The Greyhound?" incident as he stood underneath the large 'The Greyhound' sign, were all we needed to confirm our votes as conservative.
Or so I thought. Upon arrival at my local polling station (a full twenty yards from the end of my driveway), I was informed I was at the wrong polling station and had to drive two miles to my official station. So I did that, only to be told that I wasn't registered and couldn't therefore vote. Great. Nothing came through the post instructing people to ensure they were registered, I saw no adverts on television telling people how to secure a polling card and there was clearly no message to encourage people to vote.
I blame the government. Old and new, they're both the same.
