G-G-GREAT HEAVENS

About two months ago, Debs and I rented Gothika, starring Halle Berry - a psychological thriller about a woman who is at first the doctor and then the doctored. True to form, Debs was asleep within the first ten minutes, leaving me to watch alone through the twists, the jumps, and the haunting appearances of 'Not Alone' on glass and Berry's arm by the ghost of a young girl who'd been raped and murdered. A scary film, slightly predictable but very much worth watching.

Last weekend, Debs and I again rented a DVD. This time it was another movie beginning with G - Godsend, with Robert De Niro. As usual, Debs was asleep almost as soon as the opening credits had finished polluting the screen, so I sat down in the pitch black and scared myself shitless at one of the most chilling films I have ever seen. The basic plot is this, a young boy is killed in a road accident at the age of 8, the parents are distraught but are given the opportunity by a strange doctor (De Niro) to reincarnate him through genetic cloning. The only thing is, when he reaches the age when he originally died, things begin to happen.

I have never been so petrified of a film in my entire life. Ignoring the contented snores of a blissfully unaware Debbie, I clung on to her Winnie The Pooh for comfort and fought the urge to hide behind a cushion when the creepy music flared up again. Possessed souls, flashbacks to previous lives and enough suspense to drown Hollywood, this film is blood-curdlingly frightening and damned good.

Except now, when I am alone in the house, I get convinced that there is a possessed little boy about to jump on me with an axe. The hairs on my arms stand on end (my legs and back too if I'm honest) and I throw the occasional glance backwards just to check.

Rent it.

Now that I am allowed to comment again, all I feel inclined to say is: "Go and stick your head up your arse."

Thank you.

Hello Prick

I agree with Paul. I have waited what seems like an eternity to say go stick your head up your arse. Wibbler when you read this, the same goes for you as I know you're the code monkey behind this site. Maybe you could do this together. It'll be just like the Cranleigh school days....

We need to organise a piss up for Christmas too.
