« BRIGHT MOMENTS IN A MISERABLE DAY | Main | REVAMPED » September 17, 2004UPDATESDear ReadersPlease accept my apologies for not posting anything on this here website for around three weeks, I realise that this is an unacceptable length of time to keep you in the dark about the goings on in my life but I can assure you that there are valid reasons for such a lack of activity. I suppose the most amusing event over the past few weeks was the 'Bad Taste' party that Al 'Quaeda' MacHorton, Tony 'War' Lock and I 'Hi' Jack Cook hosted down on our farm. The invitation clearly stated that attendees should be dressed in, or at least prepared for, a suitably bad taste get-up (as Simon S so entertainingly put it). Ben and Carole rocked up wearing t-shirts depicting me clutching a foam sword and brandishing a copy of Men Only, Alex borrowed a loud shirt, so did the bird, Simon S gathered together his dad's best (worst) clothing and turned up as some sort of multi-coloured hippie and I outdid them all by burning some holes in a £3 Primark white shirt, smearing some red acrylic paint on, calling myself Jackov and attending the party as a Russian schoolboy. This did not seem to be too well received, but it was a Bad Taste party so what the hell were they expecting? I know it's not a funny subject, but the whole point of the party was to forget about the world's, and people's own, troubles, dress up in something stupid and forget about being serious for a night. Some people need to know how to unwind. Anyway, lots of karaoke singing, boating on the lake and throwing midget gems at Simon S later and it was all over. And the only serious evidence of a party in the morning after was a house full of people with headaches, a bread roll in the bath and a floor covered in midget gems. Aside from that event, my job's crap, football season's started (played two, lost two), the bird is well, music is progressing, this website's due a revamp and I'm getting 50 spam comments a day from bob@yahoo.
