THE FINAL ENCORE

And so last night was the last ever Open Mic night at the Cranley Hotel. After three and a half years of weekly Sparky appearances, it's very sad for those of us that have ever been to or participated in Open Mic night to see it go.

We were all there - Simon H, Lucy R, Simon S, Michelle C, Shaun H, Katie R, Debs, me, Sophie C, Alex M, Siobhan, Matt S and even Mr & Mrs B. The music was good, the company was amusing and we were all wearing 'The Final Encore' t-shirts courtesy of Simon H who spent hours printing out lettering and ironing it on. He also ironed on a photo of Sparky on his boxers, which he proceeded to show everyone in the pub.

All in all it was a marvellous evening and it hasn't quite sunk in that there will be no more Open Mic night in the Cranley Hotel, but the memories live on and we always have the photos.

So I'll end this post with a piece of Open Mic night legend:

"Thinking about your donkey, thinking about your ass.
Oh Lord won't you buy me a horse"
