DOG BOWL

I would like to take this opportunity to describe one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed.

SCENE: Nick M's house-warming party, towards the end of the night.

INCIDENT: Because of the sheer numbers of people at the party, space for sleeping in was going to be limited, so suggestions for alternatives were requested. Simon S and I learned that the flat opposite was empty and unoccupied and so the decision was taken to break in. However, it's a first floor flat and since we had no ladder, the only access was through the front door.

Simon, wearing a stainless steel dog's bowl on his head, took a few paces back and ran at the door. At full pelt he dipped his bulky shoulders for impact, but rebounded off the door, collapsed into a groaning heap on the ground, and the dog bowl flipped high into the air, making a clanging KERRANG sound that echoed around the corridor.
