DOGGY DOO DOOS
Back at the start of the year, when I had just started my job, I could put up with the Rottweiler growling at me, knawing on my arm, and stalking me from the other end of the office. I could cope with him lying in the doorway and forcing me to do a rather large step over him (which made me look like I was re-enacting one of the Ministry of Silly Walks), and I could bear his constant begging for Bonios.
NOW, however, we have a Jack Russell puppy to contend with as well. He is very cute, very playful and very adorable. I don't really mind him tugging on the backs of my trousers, I can handle it when he constantly nips me with his razor sharp teeth and I don't have much of a problem with him practising his toilet habits on the carpet in the adjoining manager's office.
The other day, mind, he overstepped the mark. After having played with him for ages, I nursed my cut-ridden hands and stroked him endlessly until he decided that he wanted to go to sleep on my lap. This was ok with me, at least then I could get on with some work.
Minutes later, he awoke once more and sought further attention. I patted him again, told him he was a good boy and gave him a doggy biscuit. He gazed into my eyes with his soft, puppy-dog expression, murmuring gently as I tickled behind his ears. He sat there, gratefully relishing in all the lavish attention I was giving him and slowly, but surely, tiddled all down my nice clean jeans.
