BAR MED

The only excuse Simon S, Simon H and I could come up with for last night's unplanned, unprovoked, inexcusable alcohol-induced debauchery was that it was Thursday night.

It all started when the original idea of a 'couple of beers' was discarded because of the four Sidekick's for a fiver offer in Bar Med. Forty sidekicks later and we found ourselves trying to build a tower of Sidekick pots the size of Ben Nevis and inventing 101 uses for their green lids.

We invented a new game too - Japanese Whispers. Based on the principle of Chinese Whispers, where one person says a phrase and it has to be whispered one-by-one to the whole group and returned to the start again, this game involved passing a beer mat from one person to another. Such fun.

Spurred on by numerous double Jack Daniels, double Southern Comfort, Absynth and Tequila (no salt, no lemon), we ventured onto the empty dancefloor and priviledged the whole bar with the concept of silly dancing, including an adaptation of the lawnmower...

The morning came and we realised that it wasn't, in fact, the weekend and that we had to go to work. And it was only when I arrived at work, late, that Simon H rang up and told me that I was wearing eye-liner and had painted nails...

What a splendid account of the night. And highly useful - I can't remember a thing...
