JOB
May 27th, 2004 Posted in UncategorizedI really couldn’t give a shit who reads this but I really need to get this off my chest.
I fucking hate my job, it’s a bullshit glorified admin job with sod all prospects in a company that tries to trap you with false incentives and then moves the goalposts. I have to leave and I have to leave soon, although my three month notice period is a complete pain in the arse.
Somebody help me.

I would paste my email to you about this, but it’s a veritable essay. suffice to say that you are worth more than the job you are currently doing, and I’m sure you’ll find an excellent opportunity in the near future… chin up, old son…

as Mark always said, “if you have to amputate a limb, you do it deep, and quick, and now”

You could always emigrate to another country for a while and get straight out of your job… that way they wouldn’t be able to track you, you wouldn’t have to work the notice period and you could have fun whilst your away!

Previous posts made it seem quite good/enjoyable. There’s always bad times at work so don’t knee-jerk in to leaving or sulking at work which ultimatley does more harm that good.

THREE months notice period? I don’t recall that. I would be interested to read wibbler’s veritable essay on the subject. I believe I used the phrase ‘glorified administration’ in my exit interview (for interview read ‘rant’). Be sure to do the same, it doesn’t half feel good following false promises. The hardest part for me was facing up to the fact that I wasn’t anywhere near where I wanted to be. I had a significant inkling five weeks in but did nothing for five months. Once there is a clear realisation that there IS something better just around the corner, you have to concentrate efforts and seek it out. Do not regret walking down the corridor of life and not trying the handle of a door you wanted to go through…

If you want to get into Event Management and Catering I have a job going at the moment…hours are long and pay is crap but apart from that it is great! You will also find that if you make it clear why you want to leave…that you are de-motivated and will do your utmost to avoid work for the rest of your contract, that they will probably let you off your three months. Spare a thought for me…I’m tied in for SIX months should I want to leave!

I agree with Paul re letting you off the three months if needs be…and am sure you could manage to keep the car for the three months, after all, you’ve been on a course!

thanks for your feedback - this post wasn’t the result of a bad day, this has been building for several months and I reached boiling point.
I know what, I’ll bugger off to Greece for two weeks to think about it…..
