UNI BOYS REUNION
March 21st, 2004 Posted in UncategorizedAbout twice a year, all my uni friends get together for a reunion and a bit of a booze up. Usually we go back to our old roots of Cardiff and visit all the old haunts, reliving our student days, but this time we opted for a new scene.
So we chose London, which was a logistical nightmare given the varying places from where we were coming. England v Wales is always a good time to get back together considering our Welsh connections, and for those of us that weren’t at the game itself, a few beers with the unemployed Irish old men in Balham’s Wetherspoon’s was in order.
Come half eight we had all arrived and things get a bit blurry from this moment on, so I’ll sum up in a few short words. We were hammered, we went to Inferno’s in Clapham, we tucked into Zinger burgers from KFC at 2am and we hailed an illegal taxi for the ride home, giggling at the obscene content of our conversation with the driver.
So we got back to Payno’s, woke up his housemate because we had no key and slumped on the floor.
This morning I had the worst hangover I have had in a long time - fatigue, rapid heart beat and distinct nausea. To make matter worse, I could think of nothing other than the mayo-swamped Zinger burger I had consumed hours earlier.
But hey, it was fun.
